The IBS, or International Benchrest Shooters, is a United States governing body that runs registered benchrest matches and keeps the records that come out of them. It provides the rule structure that lets shooters compare results fairly from one match and one range to the next. Its registered matches are where serious benchrest competitors test equipment and load development against the field.

Because the sport is scored on group size measured to the thousandth of an inch, the IBS sits at the sharp end of the accuracy vs precision conversation, where repeatable tiny groups are everything. Together with the NBRSA, it forms one of the two principal bodies overseeing benchrest in the United States.
