Offhand
Standing, unsupported shooting position. The rifle is held entirely by the body without bipod, sling, or rest. The hardest precision position.
Offhand demands the most body control of any position. Your heart rate transmits to the rifle visibly, and breath sway becomes the dominant source of motion. Natural point of aim turns into everything here. Fight that natural alignment and the reticle wanders across the entire target.
Most precision shooters limit offhand work to short ranges (100-300 yards) or to specific competition stages that require it. Past those distances, supported positions dominate the discipline.
