Natural Point of Aim
Also: NPOA
The direction the rifle naturally points when the shooter relaxes, with no muscle tension, just bone-on-bone support.
To check NPOA in prone: get behind the rifle, settle into position, close your eyes, take a relaxed breath, open your eyes. If the reticle isn’t on the target, your position is wrong. Shift the rifle (and the body) so the relaxed position puts the reticle on target.
Fighting NPOA through muscle tension means the rifle drifts off as soon as recoil hits. Build the position so the rifle wants to point where you’re shooting.
