Hollow Point
Also: HP
A bullet with a cavity at the tip. In match rifle bullets the hollow is a manufacturing artifact; in hunting bullets it is designed to expand on impact.
Match hollow points such as the Sierra MatchKing, Berger Match Hybrid, and Hornady ELD-Match are not hunting bullets. The meplat is a small open dimple left from the jacket-forming process, and that hollow contributes to a high BC because it lets the maker push the boat tail and ogive into the most aerodynamic shape.
The hunting style is the jacketed hollow point, which has a real cavity engineered for terminal expansion. It helps to keep the two straight: match bullets are not built for terminal expansion, and hunting bullets rarely shoot to match accuracy.
