Ejector
The spring plunger or fixed blade that kicks the extracted case clear of the action once the bolt is drawn back.
The ejector is the part that throws the empty case out of the rifle after the extractor has pulled it from the chamber. Two common types exist: a spring-loaded plunger set into the bolt-face, which pushes constantly against the case head, and a fixed blade in the receiver that the case strikes as the bolt reaches the rear of its travel.
The two designs produce different behavior. A plunger ejector flings brass with steady force the instant the case clears the chamber, while a blade ejector lets the shooter control ejection by how hard the bolt is run, which handloaders often prefer for catching their cases gently.
