CLP stands for Cleaner, Lubricant, Protectant, an all-in-one fluid meant to do three jobs at once: loosen fouling, lubricate the action, and leave a thin film that fends off corrosion. Its appeal is simplicity, one bottle that handles routine maintenance and field wipe-downs.

For precision cleaning, dedicated products usually win each task: a stronger bore solvent for stubborn copper, a purpose-made grease where bolt lugs need it, a separate protectant for storage. CLP is the do-everything option for keeping a rifle running, and it pairs well with a quick bore snake pass. Note that any wet bore shifts the first cold shot, so dry-patch before firing for record, the cold clean bore rule.
