A short, audible reset (the classic “click” you can feel under your finger) lets the shooter prep for the next shot quickly. Premium triggers have crisp, short resets; bargain triggers often have long, mushy resets that work but don’t read clearly.

In precision-bolt-action work, reset matters less than break weight and creep. In gas-gun work (especially competition), short reset becomes more important because rapid follow-ups depend on it.
