POA is the shooter’s input. POI is the bullet’s actual landing point. The difference between them is the error in the shot, caused by wind miscall, scope tracking error, position issues, follow-through failure, or any combination.

“POA equals POI” is the goal at the zero distance. Past zero, POA and POI diverge by the bullet’s drop, and the shooter compensates with dial or hold.
