For a typical hunting cartridge zeroed to print 2 inches high at 100 yards, the bullet may stay within ±3 inches of the line of sight from the muzzle to 280-320 yards depending on the load. Inside that window, the shooter can hold dead-on a vital zone and make the hit.

PBR is useful for hunting in unknown-distance conditions. For precision target work, you ditch it and shoot with corrected dope at every distance.
