Bullet Puller
Also: Kinetic Puller
A tool that removes a seated bullet from a loaded round so the components can be salvaged or an out-of-spec powder charge corrected.
A bullet puller is a handloader’s tool for pulling a bullet back out of a case that has already been loaded, letting you recover the brass, powder, and projectile instead of discarding the round. The common kinetic type looks like a hammer: you cap the cartridge in a collet, strike the head against a hard surface, and inertia drives the case backward while the bullet stays put and slides free.
Reloaders reach for a puller whenever something goes wrong in reloading, such as a double or missing charge, the wrong projectile, or a seating depth that came out too short. A collet-style puller that grips the bullet in a press is gentler on the projectile and is preferred when you intend to reseat and reuse it.
